Rogers State University established the Innovation Center in 2002 to foster economic development and address the educational needs of business and industry in northeastern Oklahoma.
Technology Business Incubator
The Innovation Center at Rogers State University features a business and technology incubator program geared toward growing early stage technology, light manufacturing, and professional service-based companies. The incubator program provides support and mentoring for new companies, especially those that focus on
- Information Technology
- Biosciences
- Environmental conservation
Support services provided to clients located in the incubator include:
- Utilities including electricity, water, and sewer
- Broadband Internet connections and central phone system
- Conference facilities, including video and teleconferencing facilities
- Small business resource library with access to numerous databases and online resources
- Office support equipment including copy and fax machines, laser printer, scanner and more
- Personal business counseling and assistance
- Free access to workshops and classes on topics such as finance, marketing, accounting, taxation, legal issues, and management

Entrepreneur Training
Entrepreneur Development Program
- Online program geared toward entrepreneurs and small business owners. Setup as an open entry / open exit non-credit course designed to answer the many questions entrepreneurs have when starting or running a business. Eleven modules covering topics such as: marketing, management, accounting, writing business plans, employment law, taxes and more.
Small Business Workshops
- Designed to assist area small businesses and entrepreneurs in developing successful enterprises. The workshops are presented by state and area business specialists, as well as the Innovation Center professional staff via personal presentation or live video conferencing. The Innovation Center offers approximately 24 workshops throughout the year on various topics including finance, marketing, accounting, taxation, legal issues, and management. The workshops are offered at RSU Claremore, RSU Bartlesville, and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in Miami.
Small Business Counseling
The Center is poised to assist existing businesses wishing to expand, improve profitability or deal with issues that arise from business expansion. Assistance is also available to inspiring entrepreneurs wishing to start their own business. We can offer help through one-on-one meetings about your business or through workshops that can be customized for a variety of topics, such as:

- Business plans
- Entity Selection
- Business funding
Economic, Demographic and Social Research
The Innovation Center also serves as a regional research and community data center. As an affiliate agency with the Oklahoma Department of Commerce’s State Data Center Program, the Center provides data and research assistance to businesses and industries, governmental entities, non profit organizations and individuals. Using available data resources and staff research, the Center provides a number of publications and reports.
Economic Indicators
This quarterly publication highlights the economic trends in northeast Oklahoma counties.
County Profiles
In order for entrepreneurs to have the most up to date census information on their target market areas, the Innovation Center has put together County Profile publications. These reports have been published for Rogers County and the surrounding regions to include Craig, Delaware, Mayes, Nowata, Washington and Ottawa counties. The County Profile highlights key demographic information.
Applied Research
The Innovation Center at Rogers State University assists businesses and industries by conducting research used for feasibility studies and marketing studies. The Center also assists governmental entities and non profit organizations in compiling data for grant proposals.
